What Does This Mean?
Occlusion is defined as the ideal alignment of the teeth and arches in the mouth. While malocclusion is the deviation of normal occlusion.
Classes of Malocclusion

Class I malocclusion is normal occlusion with the deviation of other individual tooth or many teeth in the mouth causing crowding or spaces between each other.
Class II malocclusion, sometimes referred to as an overbite. It is when the lower teeth bite into the roof of the mouth when mouth is closed. It causes difficulty in the movement of the lower jaw and may cause premature wear of the front teeth.


Class II malocclusion is divided into two divisions.

Class III malocclusion also called an underbite. it is when the upper teeth are inside or not in front of the lower teeth. Which makes it difficult to cut food and causes premature wear to the back teeth.
